All City of Cape Town Nature Reserves closed due to weather

The City of Cape Town’s Spatial Planning and Environment Directorate would like to advise members of the public and visitors on the closure of all City nature reserves until further notice. This closure follows the inclement weather that has resulted in flooding and storms.
‘The decision to close off public facilities such as our
nature reserves is not an easy one to take, but under the current weather
conditions, we have no choice but to ensure that we prioritise the safety of
our residents and staff. Widespread flooding and storm-related incidents are
being attended to throughout the city. We are keeping a close eye on the
prevailing weather conditions and will commit to sending regular updates. We thank
you for your patience and understanding in this regard,’ said the City’s Deputy
Mayor and Mayoral Committee Member for Spatial Planning and Environment,
Alderman Eddie Andrews.

- Blaauwberg Nature Reserve
- Bothasig Fynbos Nature Reserve
- Botterblom Nature Reserve
- Bracken Nature Reserve
- Durbanville Nature Reserve
- Edith Stephens Nature Reserve
- False Bay Nature Reserve
- Harmony Flats Nature Reserve
- Helderberg Nature Reserve
- Steenbras Nature Reserve
- Table Bay Nature Reserve
- Tygerberg Nature Reserve
- Uitkamp Wetland Nature Reserve
- Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve
- Wolfgat Nature Reserve
- Zandvlei Nature Reserve
